If you’ve landed on my first ever blog post for the heart-cracking, mind-bending journey that is onerability, I want to give you a virtual hug that stretches all the way from my corner of the world wide web to yours! It takes courage to start seeking out answers to questions you may have had bouncing around your pre-frontal cortex for weeks, months or even years, so why not take a moment to breathe deeply, open up that third eye and really marinate in all that energetic goodness – you’ve already taken a really important first step.

I truly believe that just as James Redfield painted a picture of a world where us earthly beings would share wisdom and ideas rather than currency in The Celestine Prophecy – a seminal book you NEED to add to your 2026 reading list – we all have rich reserves of knowledge that have been curated with the help of our own personal life stories. Naturally that inner critic may be telling you – as it has me – ‘I’m no Gabriella Bernstein, and I haven’t ticked many of the important life boxes, so what authority do I have to influence and guide others?’. Some would say very little, but then I think on the mothers, sisters, grandmothers, checkout workers, baristas, homemakers and more who are holding space for important conversations each and every day, and the unknown impact they are having on the world around them. I count myself among them, and the sprinkling of spiritual up levelling I’ve managed to achieve in my 46 years on the planet means I finally have the confidence to package my thoughts and deliver them on a pretty, but imperfect platter to the world. I strongly believe that someone, somewhere is going to see what I see, and feel what I feel and go: ‘hey I’m not alone, and hmm that’s something I want to delve a little more into’, and maybe that will help them get through their day, or even give them that little nudge that helps propel them into the next chapter of their life. It’s a roll of the dice, and it may or may not land on a six, but it’s all about the endeavour.

I write this missive to you from my comfy IKEA sofa, hoody up and Netflix series in the background – I know, I know! In the corner of my eye I can see a framed picture of my vision board – which has yet to be updated for this year – and smell the last vestiges of my ‘positive vibes’ incense stick. I also have fresh in my memory my morning start of a subliminal on my headphones, while finishing the last few pages of the Year Compass. I’m not sharing all of this to sound smug, but to show you how much intentionality and leaning into onerability has already done so much for my life, as I’m sure it can for yours.

I have great hopes for this platform, because I’m daring to dream big for the first time. I’m initially aiming to write one blog month and maybe launch a digital product down the road – and if want to loop back into the comments four months from now and say: ‘hey Miriam whatever happened to your promise of…?’ – I’m here for that level of accountability.

Love to you all – or maybe that just that one reader who Googled something vaguely related to personal development and ended up here – until next time.
